Task Force Recommends Employers Use Electronic Verification for Immigration Status

A task force in Nebraska is proposing that employers electronically verify the immigration status of job applicants or face stiff penalties.
The Freemont, Nebraska task force recommended to the city council that employers use the E-Verify system, a free federal internet-based system which is currently being used voluntarily by some businesses to verify immigration status.
